Plott
Client portal for architects

Drawing sets your clients can actually read — sheet by sheet, revision by revision.

A private client portal built from the Google Drive folder you already use. Plott reads sheet numbers and revisions from your file names, opens a multi-page PDF one page at a time in the browser, and keeps every comment on the revision it was left on.

Sound familiar?

The drawings are right. The review process isn't.

final_final_v3.pdf

Nobody is sure which set is current — including, some days, the studio that issued it.

60 MB attachments

Clients won't download a full drawing set to check a single elevation, so they don't check it.

Comments on superseded sheets

Markups arrive on Rev A while Rev C is already on site, and someone has to reconcile them by hand.

One thread for everyone

Client and contractor feedback end up mixed in the same group chat, visible to both.

How Plott fits

An architect client feedback tool built around how drawings are issued.

Revisions

Revisions read straight from your file names.

Keep naming files the way you already do. Plott groups sheets by their number, treats the newest revision as current and keeps earlier ones readable underneath.

  • Understands _rev-C, -RevC, _v3 and a revision letter after the sheet number
  • A name it cannot read is flagged as unversioned — never guessed at
  • Comments stay on the revision they were left on

Shows as the current version. Earlier ones stay in history, and every comment stays pinned to the version it was left on.

Drawing sets

A 60 MB set, read one page at a time.

A multi-page PDF opens in the browser as a grid of pages or one sheet at a time. Nobody downloads the whole set to look at one plan, and notes can be pinned to a specific page.

  • Grid view and single-page view for every drawing set
  • Notes pinned to an exact spot on an exact page
  • Works on a phone on site as well as on a desktop

Private lines

The client and the contractor, each on their own line.

Switch off shared client notes and every person you invite has their own private conversation. Your client and your contractor can both comment on the same sheet without seeing each other's notes — and you see all of them in one place.

  • One private link per person you invite
  • Nobody can read another person's notes
  • Every note from every line in your studio inbox

Questions

What architects ask first.

Which file name formats does Plott understand?

Common conventions such as A-201_rev-C, A-201-RevC, living-room_v3 and a revision letter after the sheet number, like A-201-C. Files are grouped into sets by their sheet number.

What happens if a file name has no revision in it?

If a name looks like it should carry one but Plott cannot read it — final, latest, copy — the file is shown as unversioned and flagged for you. Plott never guesses, because a wrong guess puts a superseded drawing in front of a client.

Can a client and a contractor comment separately?

Yes. Each person you invite gets their own private link, and their notes are visible only to them and to your studio.

Do clients have to download large drawing sets?

No. Multi-page PDFs render page by page in the browser, as a grid of pages or one sheet at a time.

Issue the next drawing set as one link that never goes out of date.

Connect one project folder and let the file names do the versioning.
