Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and Yash Jaysukhbhai Sanathara, who owns and operates Plott (“Plott”, “we”), about using Plott. By creating an account, by joining a studio’s team, or by opening a project link a studio has sent you, you agree to them. If you are using Plott for a business, you agree on behalf of that business.
What Plott does
Plott is where a studio runs its projects with its clients. A studio shares a Google Drive folder with Plott, chooses what clients can see, and sends each client one private link. Clients view the work, leave notes pinned to it, approve drawings and sign documents; the studio reads and answers them.
Around that, a studio can keep its enquiries, contacts and tasks in Plott, work with its team, and write quotes and invoices for its clients.
Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- Tell us straight away at hello@plott.work if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Your team
If your plan includes a team, you can invite people into your studio and choose what each role may do. Each person has their own account and agrees to these terms when they join. The studio’s owner is responsible for who is invited, for what they are allowed to do, and for what they do in the studio’s name.
Your work stays yours
You keep all ownership of the files you share through Plott and everything you write in it. We claim no rights to your work.
You give us permission to access, process and display that content only as needed to run Plott for you — for example, to make watermarked previews and show them to the people you have invited. That permission ends when you remove the content or close your account, apart from backups and records we are required to keep.
You confirm that you have the right to share the files you connect and upload, and that sharing them with the people you invite does not break anyone else’s rights.
Google Drive
Plott reads your folder with read-only access and never changes, moves or deletes anything in your Drive. Your use of Google Drive is also covered by Google’s own terms. If you remove Plott from a folder’s sharing, Plott can no longer read new or changed files in it.
Approvals and signatures
A studio can ask a client to approve a drawing or to sign a document. When that happens Plott records who approved or signed, the exact version they saw, when, and from which IP address and browser, and keeps a signed copy of a signed document.
Plott provides that record. It does not check anyone’s identity beyond their email address, and it is not a party to what is approved or signed. Whether a signature made this way is enough for a particular document is for the studio and its client to decide; some documents need a different kind of signature by law.
Quotes, invoices and your clients’ money
Plott helps you write quotes and invoices and keep track of whether they have been paid. You are responsible for what they say: the amounts, the tax, your GST details and your bank details.
Plott never takes, holds or passes on money between you and your clients. A payment marked in Plott is your own record of it.
People whose details you add
You may add other people’s details to Plott: clients, contacts, and people who have enquired about a project. You confirm that you are allowed to hold and use those details, and that you will use Plott to contact them only about your own work with them.
Emails
Plott sends emails for you — invitations, sign-in links and codes, notes, approval and signing requests, and reminders — to the people you add. Each person can turn off the notification emails they do not want.
We may also send studios occasional emails about Plott. Every one has an unsubscribe link. We do not send these to your clients.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Plott to:
- share content that is unlawful, or that you do not have the right to share;
- try to reach accounts, projects or data that are not yours;
- interfere with, overload, or probe the security of the service;
- strip or work around watermarks or other protections on work shared with you;
- send messages to people who have not agreed to hear from you; or
- resell or provide Plott to others as your own service without our agreement.
Plans and payment
A new studio gets a free trial of 30 days. No card is asked for. There is no free plan: when the trial ends, the studio is paused until it chooses a paid plan.
Paid plans are described on our pricing page. Prices are in Indian rupees and are shown, with any GST, before you pay.
- How you pay: by the month or by the year, through Cashfree’s checkout. Nothing is taken from you automatically. We email you before each period is due, and you pay for the next one.
- Invoices: every payment gets an invoice.
- If a payment is late: you have two days after the due date. After that the studio’s dashboard is locked until the plan is paid for. Your clients’ links keep working.
- Stopping: you can stop at any time by not paying for the next period. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Payments already made are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
- Changing plan: what a change costs is shown before you pay.
We may change our prices, and will tell you before a change affects a plan you already pay for.
Watermarks and protection
Watermarks, screen-resolution previews and project codes make it much harder for work to be reused without permission, but no technical measure can make that impossible — a person can still photograph a screen. Plott’s protections reduce that risk; they are not a guarantee.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Plott running reliably, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We improve Plott continually and may add, change or remove features. If we remove something that materially affects a paid plan, we will tell you in advance.
Ending your use of Plott
You can stop using Plott at any time. To close your account and have its data erased, write to hello@plott.work. Your files remain in your Google Drive, named as you named them; project links stop working.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires us to. Where we reasonably can, we will warn you first.
Disclaimers
Plott is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those written in these terms — including that Plott will suit a particular purpose. Plott is a tool for sharing and reviewing work and for keeping a studio’s records; decisions made from that work, and the quotes, invoices and documents a studio issues, remain the responsibility of the studio and its clients.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost business. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to Plott is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100 if you have not paid us anything. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes will be handled by the courts of India.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will tell studios by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Plott after that means you accept the updated terms. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
